Previous Events: Coming Out of the Black Country: an illustrated talk

On 18 June 2019 in the lead up to Pride 2019, Islington’s Pride and Islington Libray and Heritage Service hosted an illustrated talk by author and Charterhouse resident Stanley Underhill. This talk was co hosted by fellow Charterhous brother Stephen McGhee.

The talk has been kindly filmed by Thomas Voelker as part of a wider project to share Stanley’s story. We highly recommend watching this touching personal account of one man’s journey.

Another author was present at this talk, Mike Jackson and Stanley and Mike were able to swap titles! You can pick up a copy of Coming Out of the Black Country online or pop into the archive or Islington’s libraries.

Many thanks to the whole team who made this event possible.
